A productive inspection begins with a question, not a generic checklist. Identify the asset or cargo, its location, the decision the report must support and any time or access constraints.
Share available plans, shipment documents, previous findings and the contact responsible for access. Agree the reporting format and who receives urgent observations. The final scope should identify what is included, what cannot be accessed and whether sampling or external laboratory work is needed.
